Project 5 : Mark

Garden 1 : 2015 (garden design, planting design, soft landscaping project management, garden maintenance)

Garden 2 : 2018 (garden design, garden construction, hard landscaping, planting design, soft landscaping, project management)

We first worked for Mark in 2015 when we redesigned his rear garden.

When Mark moved house in 2018, he asked us to ‘work our magic again’.

Brief

Mark’s garden consisted of a poor quality lawn and a deck - and not much else. Mark asked us to completely redesign the space, to remove the lawn and introduce plenty of green and colour through the use of plants. Planting brief is lower maintenance seasonal interest, colour, attract wildlife into the garden and the introduction of trees to break up the built up views out.

Design solution.

The design uses symmetrical and asymmetrical paths to provide a simple structural and ground level linear element. This can be appreciated from a single viewpoint – the house or seating area or whilst moving around the garden.  The borders created by the lines of the paths allow Mark to get up close to the plants in their island style planting positions.  The addition of the trees provides much needed vertical interest and encourages wildlife into the garden.

The garden is looking magnificent and things are really coming on well. The colours and types of plants go so well I am glad I had it professionally designed. Money well spent!
